 Yoga has a wealth of benefits for athletes, and it’s worth trying if you want to gain strength, flexibility, and balance. It may help improve your range of motion, mobility, and coordination, all of which can boost your performance and prevent injury.


Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

This pose looks easy, because it’s basically just standing. But it’s the basis for all the other standing poses and inversions.

If you do this actively, you’ll be working your torso and legs, and you’ll be grounding yourself. This can be great for confidence and easing anxiety.

  1. Stand with your big toes barely touching, and your heels slightly apart. A good way to gauge your stance is to see if your second toes are parallel.
  2. Press into all four corners of your feet: big toe, little toe, right side heel, left side heel. As you push into your feet, feel how that engages your entire leg and keeps those muscles active.
  3. Take a deep breath and roll your shoulders up and back, releasing them down, so your shoulder blades are resting toward each other and your neck is long.
  4. Take a few deep breaths here. Close your eyes if you like.travel through the world in yoga.









When you’re ready to move on, take a deep breath.


  1. 1. Get into position. Your feet should either be hip-width apart or together with the base of your big toes touching (depending on your balance). Keep your back straight and your arms at your side. Lift and spread your toes, then shift your weight to find the proper balance.
  2. 2. Engage the leg muscles. Firm your quadriceps, elongate your tailbone, and lift your kneecaps slightly. Keep your legs straight but avoid locking your knees, which can place unnecessary stress on your joints. Pinch your shoulder blades and align them with your hips.
  3. 3. Lengthen your body. The crown of your head should extend towards the ceiling along with your sternum without pushing your lower ribs forward. Widen your collarbones, and keep your arms at your side with your palms facing frontwards. You can also put your hands in the prayer position in front of your chest, also known as Anjali Mudra

Gymnasiums have to cater to a wide array of sports and are often used as multi-purpose activity areas. 
Indoor sports surfaces have to be durable enough to keep up with the athletes no matter what they are doing. Basketball, badminton, volleyball, and handball all may share the same court, which could be used multiple times a day for hours at a time. Regardless of whatever is played in a court, as a facilities manager, you want to ensure that you are buying a product that will last. If the space you are working with is already built, assess how the space is used and whether the equipment already in place (bleachers, stages, etc.) will bear any limitations on reflooring or recoating. For structures still in construction, there is more flexibility for choosing the appropriate coating.

Outdoor Sports Surfaces



An even greater diversity of sports are played outdoors, including field hockey, racing/running, baseball, football, archery, horseback riding, kayaking, rock climbing, and a countless number of other activities. Outdoor sports surfaces are just as diverse as the activities played on them. While some sports are set directly within the elements, as in hiking up mountains, wind surfing on the sea, skiing cross-country over the snow, and so on, other sports need a special court or flooring system to play on.

All outdoor surfaces are designed to either perform in or withstand all types of weather. Dive into the world of Aerial yoga for a full week by the beach at Seseh Beach in Bali. The Udara Bali Yoga resort provides the most beautiful location for an Aerial yoga teacher training with a spacious, open air shala with ocean view. Join our head yoga teacher Martina Reinbold for a well-rounded Aerial Yoga Teacher Training that provides you with all the necessary tools and skills for successful teaching.

The course is 8 days (half day program on the first and last day) with 50 hours of in-house training and the possibility to stay on site at the resort or to join the course as a non-residential student. The training uses soft & stretchy Aerial silk hammocks, which provide a great support for a variety of poses.

This teacher training is open for Yoga enthusiasts, Yoga teachers and fitness instructors who have a basic practice of Aerial yoga and are eager to learn more! We teach a variety of poses that are both fun and mindful, focusing on yoga asanas that use the support of the Aerial hammock, including inversions. We will explore some flips and tricks, yet there is no pressure to perform any of the poses that you do not feel confident to do. Please seek the advice of your health practitioner, if you have previous health conditions that may prevent you from practicing Aerial yoga safely.
